Challenge
The Reno Rodeo, “The Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” has been a community staple for over a century. Before Good Giant became AOR in 2014, sell-outs were rare. By 2015, we set a new record for ticket sales. We navigated the 2020 event cancellation and have continued breaking records while securing media coverage.

Solution
We recognized that once evening performances reached full capacity, we needed to shift our focus to additional events like daytime activities in the indoor arena and encouraged attendees to explore the carnival and other attractions on the rodeo grounds, even if they couldn’t attend the sold-out evening performance.
What We Did
With evening ticket sales no longer the focus, we tailored our PR strategy to showcase activities beyond the shows. We collaborated with local media on stories featuring Nevada’s first Butter Cow, Rodeo 101 and the Reno Rodeo Tailgate Party.
